What is the AFEC?

The Australian Food Education Conference is designed for all secondary school teachers who teach Food Studies, Hospitality, Cookery and / or Agriculture.  This conference will allow you to network with other teachers from across Australia.

The focus is on industry connections and insights, food systems and sustainability.  We will be focussing on the Melbourne Food Bowl and basing the conference in Werribee South providing access to farms, primary producers and food businesses.

  • Industry Connection & Guest Speakers

  • Interactive Workplace Visits

  • Skill Demonstrations

  • Curriculum - Design & Delivery

We believe that the program will be incredibly beneficial to all Food Teachers and there will also be an additional focus on food specialisations, food safety, technology and sustainability.  You will hear from industry experts, see demos, enjoy product tastings, experience a working fresh produce farm and facility, eat great food and walk away with free resources and samples.
